My paintings are in oil on board or canvas. Because of the amount of detail in my work, the slow-drying nature of oil paints, and techniques of glazing and overpainting, my paintings take from days to weeks to complete. I start each painting with drawings that allow me to consider, and perhaps alter, the actual scene. I then begin painting each work on site and finish in my studio.
All work is available framed in cherry, oak, maple, or black walnut in a variety of frame styles. Each frame is individually handcrafted, shaped, and stained to best enhance the work.
In addition to original paintings, I offer a number of giclee prints for sale. Giclee printing is a digital process of creating high-quality, long-lasting art prints. These prints are produced by the nationally respected Classic Art Prints of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They are printed on canvas and come stretched over a wooden frame. Each image is limited to an edition of 100. They are available framed as well.
The galleries on this website are organized according to subject matter and locale, but categories do overlap. The categories are intended to be representative of my work.
If a painting has sold and is no longer available, I can e-mail you images of similar pieces. Some work may be available through galleries. In addition, I work on commission if you are interested in a house portrait or a painting of a favorite view or place. |
