I am a landscape painter who lives in wonder of the beauty of the natural world.
Working on site, or from sketches or photos, I make paintings that reflect the rural and natural beauty of the country side where I live. I often combine different scenes, rearrange trees, or omit something that doesn’t appeal to me. I want to capture the feeling, and look of a place.
To me, so much that is of interest and beauty in the world is tied a sense of place and time. In the past year I have begun a series of large paintings that I call, “Prairie, River, Skies.” They are based on the place where I live, overlooking a large expanse of restored Wisconsin prairie, a river and the ever changing sky.
